In My Life - The Beatles - Rubber Soul (Cassette, Album)

  1. One of my first Beatles album experiences was listening to my mother’s US Rubber Soul that I “acquired” (stole) during my burgeoning Beatle-obsessed teens. Even though I’m a ’90s kid that’s grown up only knowing them on cassette/CD I absolutely loved it, and I completely agree with all those that say it’s superior to the UK version.
  2. Whatever the case, Rubber Soul is a deeply funny album: the gender play of “Drive My Car” (and the beep-beep backing vocals), the cabaret of “Michelle” (because nothing warms up the object of one’s desire like French), the way Lennon sucks deeply through his teeth before oozing the chorus to “Girl.”.
  3. Rubber Soul was The Beatles' first, and in my opinion, best concept album, and CD did it justice. Not sure why Track Listing changed since '65 release but sound was sharp, clear with probably maximum achievable fidelity/5(1).
  4. Many fans believe 'Revolver' to be The Beatles' finest album, and it's easy to understand why, this is a masterpiece. My personal favourite will always be 'Rubber Soul', which was released the previous year, but their seventh LP, issued in , does come a very close second/5(2).
  5. this is a fantastic addition to the officially released stuff.. packaging is pretty good for a unofficial release.. the songs are either different or alternate mixes, as well as four live tracks. throw in 2 demos, rehearsals and different takes, it truly is a legit collection, specific to the rubber soul period.. sound quality is quite good.. also, if you can get hold of this, the alternate /5(2).
  6. View credits, reviews, tracks and shop for the Cassette release of Rubber Soul on Discogs. Label: Parlophone - TC-PCSM • Format: Cassette Album • Country: New Zealand • Genre: Rock, Pop • Style: Folk Rock, Pop Rock.
